How opt-in works
Users opt in to receive SMS alerts by texting the keyword START to the Witless.org notification number as documented on the opt-in page at https://witless.org. The opt-in page includes the program name (Witless.org), a description of the types of messages sent, message frequency disclosure, "Msg & Data rates may apply" disclosure, opt-out instructions (Reply STOP), and links to this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service. After texting START, the user receives a confirmation message verifying their enrollment. Only users who complete this keyword opt-in process receive messages.
Opt-out
Recipients may opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP. Recipients may request assistance by replying HELP or by contacting compliance@witless.org.
Cookies and analytics
This site is not intended to use advertising cookies, behavioral tracking, or third-party marketing analytics. Basic hosting or access logs may still be created automatically as part of normal web hosting operations.
Data retention
Information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for operations, security, troubleshooting, compliance, or legal purposes.
